Day 1: Seeing the beautiful  Rocky Mountains in Colorado and Canada are features of this tour. We ferry to Vancouver Island to visit several attractions in Victoria. We board our modern motorcoach in Kansas and travel north and west to Colorado. Night in Denver.

2: We drive through the Rocky Mountains of Colorado to Grand Junction and a visit to the Colorado National Monument, which is seamed with canyons more than 600 feet deep. We travel to Price, UT, for the night.

3: Today our route follows the Snake River into Idaho where we overnight in Twin Falls.

4: Our first stop is at the National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center in Baker City, OR. The center has life-size exhibits, pioneer household articles, murals and living-history areas. We travel to Prosser, WA, for the night.

5: A visit to the Space Needle, on the site of the 1961 World’s Fair, gives us a birds eye view of the city. Later we visit Pike Place Market, Seattle’s most popular tourist destination.

6: We begin with a ferry ride through the San Juan Islands to Victoria. This afternoon we tour Victoria with a local guide. Next two nights in Victoria, BC.

7: This morning is free to relax or explore downtown Victoria on your own. At lunch today we enjoy the English tradition of high tea at the Empress Hotel. Late afternoon finds us at Butchart Gardens with its lovely landscapes and floral designs.

8: Today we begin with a tour of murals in the small town of Chemainus. Next we ferry to Vancouver where a guide joins us to point out things of interest about the city. Night in Langley.

9: We depart Langley heading northeast. We make a stop at Hope, BC, Memorial Park to enjoy the chainsaw carvings scattered in the park. Our travel this morning takes us over the 4,000 foot Coquihalla Pass to Kamloops. Later we travel the Trans Canada Highway and cross Rogers Pass through the Selkirk and Monashee Mountains to Golden at the confluence of the Kicking Horse and Columbia Rivers. Night in Golden.

10: Today we are headed into the Canadian Rockies. Our first stop is at the SOHO National Park Visitor Center which offers great views of the surrounding mountains. Next we visit Lake Louise, the subject of countless photographs. Later we travel south through the Bow Valley to the city of Banff. There is free time to enjoy the area on your own and later a local guide shows and tells us about this scenic area. In late afternoon we travel to Calgary for the night.

11: This morning we travel to Fort Macleod to the Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump Interpretive Center which documents the buffalo-hunting culture of the Plains Indians. Lunch is included at the Interpretive Center. Later we head back into the United States and night in Shelby, MT.

12: Our first visit today is at the CM Russell Museum in Great Falls. The museum houses watercolors, scupltures, oil paintings and illustrated cards and letters from the cowboy artist. This afternoon we tour Helena, the capital city of Montana, before arriving in Bozeman for the night.

13: Today a guide tells us about the wonders of America’s first national park, Yellowstone. Yellowstone is home to a large variety of wildlife including grizzly bears, wolves, bison and elk. Also preserved within the park are Old Faithful and some of the world’s most extraordinary geysers and hot springs. Night in Yellowstone.

14: The Grand Tetons are among the youngest mountains on the continent. Driving through the national park, the jagged peaks are awesome. We arrive in Jackson, WY, with time to enjoy the many unique shops and town square with its elk horn covered entrances. This evening we enjoy dinner and music at the Bar J Chuckwagon supper. Night in Jackson.

15: We travel south and east today across Wyoming and Colorado to Denver for night. 

16: As we travel back to Kansas, we remember the ferry rides and the majestic Rocky Mountains we have enjoyed these days, as well as making many new friends.
