As we travel east, our first stop is in Canton at the Harry London Chocolate Factory. Here we enjoy a guided tour where you can see how they churn out delicious chocolates and candies. After the tour, sample their many candies and chocolates. Later we continue east into Pennsylvania. Night in Wilkes-Barre.

Travel today takes us across southern New York state and into Connecticut. This afternoon we visit the Mark Twain House in Hartford where the author is said to have spent the happiest and most productive years of his life. Night in Amesbury, MA.

Today we travel north into Maine. This morning we stop to view the Portland Head Light Lighthouse. By early afternoon we check into the ferry terminal in Portland and board the CAT Ferry for a 5 1/2 hour ferry ride to Yarmouth, NS. Night in Yarmouth.

Our drive this morning takes us north along the coast of Nova Scotia to the Grand-Pre’ National Historic Site. The site commemorates the Grand Pre’ area as a centre of Acadian settlement from 1682 to 1755 and the Deportation of the Acadians. Also at the site is the legendary statue of Evangeline (Heroine of the Longfellow poem) and Memorial Church. Later we travel to Halifax on the east side of Nova Scotia. Next two nights in Halifax.

Our touring today takes us away from the city and along the coast to Lunenburg, one of the greatest fishing ports on the continent. Our guide tells us about the history of this village which dates back to the mid 1700’s. On return to Halifax we stop at Peggy’s Cove, the world famous haven for artists and photographers.

This morning we drive through quaint villages on our way to Cape Breton. On our arrival in Baddeck we visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site. The site commemorates the genius and compassion of the renowned inventor. Next two nights in Baddeck.

Our destination today is the Cabot Trail, the area explored by John Cabot in the later 15th century. Cape Breton Highlands National Park bears a striking resemblance to the Scottish coastal regions.

Today we drive from Baddeck to Caribou, where we board a ferry for a 75-minute ride to Prince Edward Island. On our arrival in Charlottetown a local guide joins us for a tour of the capital city of Prince Edward Island. Then we travel north to Green Gables located in Cavendish. Here we visit the site which inspired the setting for L.M. Montgomery to create her beloved tale of the red-haired orphan Anne of Green Gables. Our dinner this evening is at the New Glasgow Lobster Supper. Night in Charlottetown.

We cross the Northumberland Strait on the Confederation Bridge this morning to New Brunswick. Our drive today takes us along part of the picturesque northern coast of the province. In the afternoon we cross the border back into the United States and continue to Waterville, ME, for the night.

Our travel today takes us south into New Hampshire. As we travel west through the Granite State we make a stop in Concord to visit the state capitol. Later we continue west through southern Vermont and into New York State. Night in Albany.

We begin our day with a visit to the grounds of the New York state capitol in Albany. Later we continue on to Niagara Falls where our first stop is Goat Island located in the middle of the Niagara River which gives a good, up close look at the falls. This evening we are free to view the falls as they are illuminated. Night in Niagara Falls.

We begin with a boat ride to the base of Niagara Falls. A pleasant drive along Lake Erie occupies our afternoon before we arrive in Toledo, OH, for night.

This is our last day to visit and reflect on the trip to Nova Scotia while we travel through Missouri to our destination in central Kansas.
