Cadillac Ranch is our first stop today to puzzle over this curious art form. This afternoon we visit the American Quarter Horse Museum. Interactive exhibits, artwork and interactive multimedia presentations tell the story of the American Quarter Horse from its early racing days in Virginia to modern ranching in the Southwest. Next we are off to Palo Duro Canyon, the second largest canyon in the United States. Following a guided tour of the canyon we enjoy an included chuckwagon dinner. After dinner we have a behind the scenes look at how “Texas”, the outdoor drama is produced. Next we attend a performance of “Texas" in the Pioneer Amphitheater.

3: A little later start this morning has us heading for the Los Cedros Ranch outside Amarillo. Here we enjoy a breakfast/brunch as we listen to cowboy music and stories and watch the cowboys and cowgirls perform on their horses. Next we stop at Jack Sizemore’s Vintage RV Museum. Here we see RV’s from the 1930’s through the 1970’s. Step back in time, reminisce and enjoy the progression of the RV industry from its inception till now. Later we drive to Lubbock, one of the major agricultural centers of Texas. Our first stop is a guided tour of the Buddy Holly Center which chronicles the life and music of the Lubbock native. After checking into our hotel we are off to an included dinner at a local restaurant. Next two nights in Lubbock.

4: We start the morning with a tour of Lubbock and a stop at Prairie Dog Town. Next we have a guided tour of the American Windmill Museum which has an exhibit hall with more than 100 American-style windmills from 1868 to the present. The center also houses 4,000 feet of “G” scale train track with railcars and scenery from the early 1900s. Lunch today is at the Hand of the Cook Kitchen where we have a tortilla making class before we enjoy an included Taco Bar lunch. At the Fibermax Center for Discovery we learn about cotton, cotton picking through the ages as well as the agricultural history of West Texas and the south plains. Dinner tonight is included at the Triple J Chophouse followed by a performance at the Cactus Theater.

5: This morning we are headed to Oklahoma City. A mid-afternoon arrival at our hotel allows us time to freshen up before departing for our evening activities. Dinner this evening is included in the Stockyards area of Oklahoma City. Following dinner we walk to the Rodeo Opry House for an evening of musical entertainment. Night in Oklahoma City.

The museum contains the largest collection in the world of banjos on public display. Lunch included before we head north back to Kansas.
