Day 1: New experiences await us in Tennessee and Alabama. Today we head east from Kansas to St. Louis, MO. Night in St Louis.

This morning our drive takes us south across the Mississippi River to Memphis, TN. By noon we are at Elvis Presley’s Graceland. This afternoon we tour the Graceland Mansion and visit the other exhibits including Elvis’ automobile collection, motorcycles, ski boats, airplanes and much more. We overnight in Horn Lake, MS, with dinner included.

This morning we travel across northern Mississippi to Muscle Shoals, AL, known as "the small town where big hits were recorded". After an included lunch we tour the area with a local guide. After checking into our hotel we depart for dinner with private entertainers from the area. Next two nights in Muscle Shoals.

Our first stop this morning is at Fame Recording Studios where many artists have come to record their hits. Next we visit a museum dedicated to W.C. Handy, “father of the blues”. After an included lunch we continue our visit of the area including attractions such as the Coon Dog Cemetery in Cherokee. Out of one hunter’s devotion to his faithful coonhound was born the Key Underwood Coon Dog Memorial Graveyard. The one of a kind graveyard features headstones made of wood, sheet metal and traditional stone but, of course the names are different and so are the epitaphs. Dinner this evening is at the Alabama Music Hall of Fame with private entertainment.

Our first visit today is in Ivy Green at the home and birthplace of Helen Keller. A tour of the site helps us to learn about Helen Keller, her family, her illness, and her teacher, Anne Sullivan. Next we are headed to Johnny Cash’s Hideaway Farm in Bon Aqua, TN. After a tour we enjoy lunch and entertainment. Later we travel to the Opryland Hotel in Nashville where we spend the next two nights.

This morning we head to downtown Nashville where our first stop is at the Country Music Hall of Fame. Later we have time downtown to browse and have lunch on our own. Next there is time to relax and enjoy time back at the Opryland Hotel. An early evening dinner at a local restaurant includes a private performance by a local singer/song- writer. This is followed by attending a performance at the Grand Ole Opry House.

A leisurely departure time allows us to enjoy the Opryland Hotel this morning before we begin our journey west toward home. Lunch is included in downtown Paducah, KY. After lunch there will be time to look at the Paducah floodwall and its many murals. Our afternoon drive brings us to St. Louis, MO, for the night.

Today we travel home with with pleasant thoughts of the sights and sounds we have experienced along the way.
