Day 1: Our tour to Omaha gets us into the holiday spirit by allowing us to experience holiday traditions from around the world. This evening we enjoy Christmas in Germany with an authentic German dinner and entertainment presented by members of Omaha’s German American Society. Next three nights in Omaha.
2: We begin our day with a visit to Boys Town where Father Flanagan’s house is decorated for an Irish Christmas. Next we visit the community of Elkhorn and the Little Scandinavia Shop. Our short visit allows us to browse for gifts from all the Scandinavian countries. Lunch today is at St. John’s Greek Orthodox Church. We visit this Byzantine Style church with its decor of gold and traditional icons before lunch prepared by members of the congregation. Dinner tonight brings us to Jolly Olde England for a Madrigal Feast. We enjoy our multi course meal while being entertained with authentic mirth and song.
3: Our first visit today is at Lauritzen Botanical Gardens where each year during the Christmas season they display over 5,000 poinsettias, including 700 forming the shape of a Christmas tree. Next we enjoy a performance of Ballet Folkorico of Mexico’s traditional dances of Mexico. Lunch today is at Union Station and the Durham Museum. While we visit we can marvel at the huge holiday tree in their main Hall and the smaller trees decorated by different ethnic communities. Tonight we celebrate the magic, romance and joy of the season as Broadway Stars join the Omaha Symphony for a singing and dancing treat we are sure to remember for years to come.
4: Today we head back to Kansas with pleasant memories of “Christmas Around The World”.
